Idyllic Pastoral Scenes of Emerald

Keats made his Ode To Autumn famous, so I'll have to come up with something of my own. It will have to be my Haiku to Autumn, to celebrate the beauty of these idyllic pastoral scenes of Emerald Lake Park.

rustle of yellow
look up and marvel the crown
jewels of autumn

autumn's golden reign
brilliant burst of verdant hues
swift fall of Fall's glow

a sigh is each heard
as they breakaway, depart
bare twigs grief, forlorn

tears shed in envy
of rivals evergreen
lush even in mirrored lake

unbeknownst to them
the beauty of fallen leaves
sacro-idyllic

emerald lake ripples
chill breezes caress
with nippy fingers

swaying trunks defy
boldly flaunting their beauty
in their matchless prime

pastoral pleasures
quiet walks on country lanes
embroidered with leaves

 textures contrasting
lichen-dabbed logs complement
feathery foliage

kookaburra sings
song of joy for meadows green
in pastures verdant

Royal Botanic Garden, Melbourne

It has been so long since I have posted anything here, I truly miss the blogging buzz and all my friends and garden bloggers terribly!
I've been traipsing around, visiting six botanic gardens and parks in the Melbourne vicinity this autumn. Two of them are second visits, the first being in a different season, so the scenery is markedly different.

I shall start with the Royal Botanic Garden of Melbourne. It was spring when I last visited the RBG, and the vista now, in autumn, is different from then.

For Sensational Haiku Wednesday:

confidence is found
not in strewn leaves on the ground
forlorn branches sigh

I'm watching her and she doesn't know it! Love this shot.

And of course, the mature trees (some octogenarians among them) add character and dignity to the landscaping.

For Haiku Heights:

gnarled, knotted roots know
old secret of True Wisdom
support or crumble

The sky's saying, "Time to go home, it is almost dusk..."

This one' seems to be saying, " Cough cough! I have to quit this habit soon!"

The flowers are mostly non-existent, but what's left add a certain spark of bravado to the fall scenery.

The Melbourne Observatory here is managed by the RBG, and is open for tours.

The Ian Potter Foundation The Children's Garden, is a fun place for children to discover a variety of plant textures.

On My Nails: Harvest Moon from the China Glaze Capitol Colours - Hunger Games Collection

Hey all,

It's a well known fact that I change my nail polish about as often as I wash my hair, and I buy new nail polish as though it's going out of fashion. I bought the entire Hunger Games China Glaze collection a while ago and have tried most of the shades. Some I like, others I love, and some just don't seem to work out for me.

This shade, I love.

It's a gorgeous coppery metallic foil, that looks absolutely stunning on the nails. The formula is absolutely wonderful as well; it applies smoothly and is full of pigment!

With Flash

What I Love
- Absolutely gorgeous shade, great for the autumn months as well!
- Applies smoothly and easily.
- Highly pigmented and full of colour.
- Long-lasting - this didn't start to chip for quite a long while.

Where to Buy: Crush Cosmetics

Price: $10.95

Ahhh, I love it!

What's your favourite shade from the Hunger Games collection?

Hope you all have a great night! xx
