On My Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet

Hey all,

I have already posted about my favourite lip butter, Berry Smoothie, and that post has more of a review.  You can read it here if you want more information, as this post will just be brief. I just had to share another lip butter love with you though - I can't help myself. Although it hasn't quite knocked Berry Smoothie off its pedestal, it is close. And of course, it's red!

You all know that I am determined to own as many red lipsticks as possible!

Shade
A gorgeous, deeper red. Blue-based, but very flattering.

Finish
Typical Lip Butter standard. Creamy and moisturising, as well as being highly pigmented.

Where to Buy: Priceline, and wherever Revlon is stocked.

Price: $21.95

Swatch

On My Lips

It is such a gorgeous, deeper red and is definitely very wearable. Not as scary as some lipstick's, as it isn't overly bright. It is also a lot easier to apply evenly! If you want a toned down red lipstick, this one is definitely for you!

Hope you all have a great night! xx

On My Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie

Hey all,

Yes, I have jumped on the bandwagon and purchased some of the well acclaimed Revlon Lip Butters. But before I start with the review, I have a bit of ranting to do.

The prices us Australian girls get charged for products is insane and personally I think it is completely unjustifiable. The lip butters are a perfect example; how we can get charged $21.95 for something that is $8 in the U.S is completely beyond me. Because of price gaps exactly like this, products that are affordable (and quite often loved for that reason) for our fellow beauty lovers overseas are not as easily accessible for Australian ladies.

What are your thoughts? Does anyone know the 'reason' behind the price gap?

Okay, rant done - on to the review.

Revlon Lip Butters are a famous new-ish product that are a wonderful combination of a lip balm/gloss and a lipstick; they provide moisture as well as colour. I have picked up four lip butters so far, but Berry Smoothie is definitely my favourite shade. For me, it's a perfect 'my lips, but better' shade.

What I Love
- Gorgeous colour- natural and universally flattering.
- Great pigmentation for the product type.
- Very moisturising and feels great on the lips.
- Relatively long lasting.
- Gorgeous packaging.

What I Don't
- The ridiculous price difference between the US and Australia.

Where to Buy: Priceline, Selected Pharmacies and wherever Revlon is sold.

Price: $21.95

On My Lips

They are lovely lip products and they do exactly what everyone and his dog/cat/bird/ant? (who hasn't been talking about them?!) claim. I am just not convinced they are worth the larger Australian price-tag.

What do you think?

If  I purchase more, I think I will grab them off eBay from the US - at a much lower price.

Hope you all have a great night! xx

I love that you can see the colour from the top of the packaging.

Wishing Upon a Star: November

Hey all,

Mmm...make up!

I have had massive beauty related cravings this month, so it was really hard for me to cut my wish list down into an 'appropriate' size. Thankfully it's coming up to Christmas soon! Definitely time for me to start placing wish lists strategically around the house...you know, light reading material and everything!

Here's a portion of what I'm lusting after this month!

The Goodies

Illamasqua Blush in Hussy - $42
Love! That is the emotion I have for my Illamasqua blushes! I'm always looking to add to my collection & have been lusting after Hussy for a while!

Revlon Lip Butters
I have no idea if we are even getting these in Australia, but I saw one of my favourite beauty gurus Emily Noel from emilynoel83 (youtube) talking about them and I think they are to die for! I really hope we get them soon, if not, I may just have to buy some off eBay!

Illamasqua Skin Base in 10 & 12 (my perfect shade!) - $65
I have spent so much money on foundation etc recently, that I haven't really been able to justify buying more. But I have gone 2 whole weeks without forking out (amazinnng :P), and this just looks so amazing!

Wittner Wedges - $149.95
Shoes, shoes, and more shoes! I absolutely adore the colour of these wedges. No, I don't really need them. But they are pretty! And they will look amazing keeping all my other wedges company.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Amused & Blissful - $25
I haven't bought any of these beauties yet and am not entirely sure why! I should get onto it, stat!

Inglot Freedom System 5 Eyeshadow Palette, full of shadow's of course!
I have no idea exactly what shadows I want, there are so many to choose from! But, I have definitely been wanting to purchase a freedom system palette for a while now, and I think this may just be the month to do it! I do love Inglot products after all...

Is anyone else finding it extremely hard to believe that it's November already?! Where-o-where has this year gone? Now I am starting to feel as though I am behind on Holiday plans!

Hope you all have a great day! xx

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick - Review

Hey all,

I haven't really ever been much of a fan of Revlon products, other than their foundations. Im not sure why, they just have never appealed to me, and until recently the only products from Revlon that I owned were a couple of nail polishes and Voluminous Carbon Black mascara. But recently I have been hearing a lot of positive chatter about the Revlon Colorburst Lipstick's, and chatter is something that I cannot ignore!

Curiosity definitely kicked in and I headed out to buy a couple of Colorburst lippies! I picked up Petal & Peach, two gorgeous, light, summery shades.

What I Love
- Rich, pigmented colours
- Glides on smoothly
- Feels weightless, doesn't feel waxy at all
- There are shades to suit any skin tone!
- The packaging is great for a drugstore product - sleek, stylish and modern!

What I Am Not So Crazy About
- Slightly drying
- Isn't very long lasting - about 2 hours wear max.
- The smell bothers me a little, but I am very sensitive to smells so I wouldn't worry about it too much
- The tip of the lipstick is square-ish, I prefer lippies with a more pointed tip as I find them easier to apply.

They are a nice lipstick, and they do have some lovely shades! But, they aren't the cheapest drugstore lipstick's and for the price they are at, I would much rather put aside a little more money and pick myself up a MAC shade - which last longer, and aren't as drying on my lips.

Price: $23.95

Where to Buy: Priceline, Target, Big W, Myer & Selected Pharmacies across Australia

Hope you all have a great day! xx
