Models Prefer Highlighter in Glitz & Glamour

Hey all,

Highlighter and I haven't always been the best of friends; I have oily/combination skin and always thought that it would make me look like an oil slick, and a lot of it does. But out relationship is quickly changing, and highlighter is fast becoming my new best friend. Who doesn't want to look radiant and glowing when they have only had 3 hours sleep?

I picked up this Models Prefer powder highlighter from Priceline the other week. I have always been pleasantly surprised by Models Prefer, so I figured that I would give it a try.

It turns out that is a gorgeous blend of four shades that work perfectly with my skin tone; I'm in love with the formula as well.

What I Love
- Gorgeous blend of shades for my skin tone.
- Smooth, creamy and not at all chalky on my skin.
- Not too much shimmer.
- Doesn't make me look like a deep fryer.
- Long-lasting and wears off evenly (no blotchy shimmer here).
- Very reasonably priced!
- Sleek, simple packaging.

What I Don't Love
- This is just a personal mope moment - but I always get a little sad when the shades all start mix together
:(

Where to Buy: Priceline

Price: $9.99

The frist swatch is all four shades mixed together, and the rest are clockwise around the quad.

I've been using this product almost everyday now. It's a gorgeous shade and works very well with my combination shade. I am definitely cheating myself to a glowing, restored self with this one!

Definitely another Model's Prefer Success!

Do you have a favourite drugstore powder highlighter?

Hope you all have a great night! xx

Hair Treats to Die For! V05 Hot Oil & Schwarzkopf Hair Repair

Hey all,

I don't know about the rest of you, but my hair was left looking worse for wear, and in need of a decent pick-me-up after winter - what we call winter in Brisbane anyway. And with my hair being long, it takes a little more effort to keep it looking shiny and lustrous! I am definitely not willing to put down my styling tools, so I went on the hunt for products that would make my hair amazing, even when it touches heat regularly!

Two products I am absolutely loving, and use over and over again are: VO5 Hot Oil & Schwarzkopf Deep Nutrition Hair Repair Treatment. They are keeping my hair from being a giant humidity caused frizz ball this summer!

V05 Hot Oil
A weekly hot oil treatment that should be used before shampooing.
Their Claims
- Reconstructs damaged hair in 1 min
- Doubles the strength of hair to reduce breakage
- Seeks out & bunds to weak sites of every strand
Removes 75% more chlorine than shampoo alone
What I Say
- It's amazing! I mean it! Go out and buy it right this second!
- Has made my hair stronger
- Makes my hair softer, shinier and easier to manage

Price: $6.99 for a pack of 5 (so it will last you 5 weeks!)
Where to Buy: Coles, Woolworths, Priceline & Selected Pharmacies

Schwarzkopf Deep Nutrition Hair Repair
Massage gently into hair after towel drying. I use it every single time I wash my hair.
Their Claims
- Repairs instantly & cares intensively
- Cashmere-supple hair and shine, without overburdening
What I Say
- Makes my hair softer & shiner
- Improves manageability
- Doesn't have an overpowering smell (I have found that many other Schwarzkopf products do, and it generally makes me steer clear!)

Price: $7.99
Where to Buy: Priceline, Coles, Woolworths & Selected Pharmacies

I have honestly seen an improvement in my hair since I started using these products diligently! Overall I think these are some amazing hair goodies for a lower price! They do a brilliant job at rescuing damaged and dry hair, and I definitely recommend that you try them!

Hope you all have a great day! xx

Almay Get Up & Grow Mascara Review

Hey all,

I am mascara crazy, a mascara fiend possibly! Who doesn't want gorgeous, long, thick and perfect lashes to frame their eyes? Of course we all do! Saying that, I am always on the hunt for the perfect mascara (which I am yet to find) and generally buy new mascara products as soon as they come out.

I picked up the Almay Get Up & Grow mascara in blackest black pretty soon after it came out in Australia, and have been using it on pretty much a daily basis since then.

I am loving it! I really do think it lives up to most of Almay's claims, and have found that it makes my eyelashes look not just longer and thicker, but also healthier!

What Almay Claims
- Visibly longer, stronger lashes
- Anti-breakage pro-vitamin formula to defend lashes against damage
- Unique brush shape contours to reach every lash
- Clump free
- It is also hypoallergenic, ophthalmologist tested & suitable for contact lens wearers

What I Love
- Lashes do look stronger, longer and healthier
- I have found that I have had less lash fall out recently
- Doesn't run or smudge
- Doesn't clump
- It also held up on a rainy day pretty damn well for a non-waterproof mascara!

The brush is amazing! Lately I have been a fan of rubber eyeshadow brushes out there, but this one is just your regular old fashioned style of brush that does an amazing job! The brush tapers in the middle, which helps it reach all the lashes and give them a great lift! Just make sure that you wipe the excess mascara off the brush, as the end of the brush can get a little clumpy.

I will definitely be purchasing this mascara again when I run out, it exceeded all my expectations!!

Price: Around $19.95 (I've misplaced my receipt)

Where to Buy: Priceline

Hope you all have a great day! xx

Australis Intensifeye Wet/Dry Eyeshadow Review

Hey all,

I stumbled across these gorgeous eyeshadow quads while they were on sale in Priceline, and I just had to buy a couple. The colours looked absolutely gorgeous, the packaging was elegant, and they were such a great price! (I picked them up for $11 each!).

I grabbed the True Blue and the You Beauty quads as I don't have that many blue and pink eyeshadow shades - I am trying to expand my horizons! True Blue is a collection of four wearable, striking shades ranging from light to dark, and You Beauty is a collection of girly, but sexy pinks!

What I Love
- Highly pigmented - especially for the price
- Great cost!
- Can be used wet or dry
- The shades in each quad work together perfectly: shades in each quad for a base shade, contour/crease and highlight
- Sleek, elegant packaging
- Not tested on animals!!

What I Am Not So Crazy About
- Doesn't last so long without a primer
- As most drugstore eyeshadow products, I wish they had more shades

Where you can buy it: Priceline, Target, Big W & Kmart

Price: $13.95 AUD

Swatches

True Blue

I am not talented at swatching on my left hand at all!

You Beauty

Overall I love them! Sure, they aren't as pigmented or long lasting as some MAC eyeshadows that I have, but at $13.95 for four splendid shades I don't think that they need to be! I am definitely going to pick up the Choc a Block (brown/neutrals) and The Big Smoke (smoky eye) quads the next time I head to Priceline!

Hope you all have a great day! xx
