Maybelline Fit Me Review

Hey all,

Firstly I need to express that I absolutely love the idea that Maybelline has with its new Fit Me system, and I have been excited to try it since it first came out. For those of you who don't know, the Maybelline Fit Me system works in an unique way. The whole point of it is that you find your match, or your 'fit me' number, and then that number transfers between foundation, concealer, powder, blush and bronzer. The idea of it is that you only need to know your one 'magic' number, and you're all set!

I spent a lot of time thinking about how I would tackle this review, keeping it together, but talking about each individual product in detail. So I thought that I would split the review into three parts: foundation, concealer & powder, and then talk about how all the products work together.

Gosh! I am getting a little technical, but that's just because the idea behind this product really does excite me!

My Maybelline Fit Me number is 310 and I am a NC40/42. Just so you know, the 320 was a little too dark and the 310 was a little light, but it's always easier to darken a foundation!

Sorry about the lighting and shadows guys! Took the picture at night.
Foundation
- Light-medium coverage - the coverage is buildable, but I would recommend this foundation to those who have good skin to begin with
- To me, I think that this foundation has more of the consistency, feel and look of a tinted moisturiser
- Blends seamlessly, very easy to work with
- Wide range of colours to suit a range of skin tones

Concealer
- Decent coverage - won't get rid of those pesky dark under-eye circles though!
- Doesn't cake or crease

Powder
- Natural looking - doesn't leave the skin with too much of a 'powdery' finish
- Sets make up well and is long lasting
- Gets rid of all that pesky shine!

The Verdict Marked Beauty Style

Okay, so as individual products they aren't anything absolutely mind blowing! Although they do feel natural, and do live up to most of Maybelline's claims, there are much more amazing products out there (Cue Lancome Teint Miracle, Laura Mercier Powder, Bobbi Brown Concealers)! But saying that, they are pretty damn good for drugstore products, and cheaper ones at that.

I think that they work best when they are all used together, and I have been finding myself using the Fit Me range on days that I don't need or want too much coverage (to uni, running errands etc).

The packaging is also sleek & super cute!

And of course, massive brownie points for creating this amazing number system! I wish all the brands out there did it, how easy life would be!

Hope you all have a great day! xx

Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation Review

Hey all,

It's an awful gloomy day here in the usually sunny Brisbane, so I thought that I would do some reviewing! I am on the hunt for absolutely perfect skin (aren't we all?) and have been trying a lot of foundations lately. I seem to be reaching for my Lancome Teint Miracle bottle almost all the time, and I am absolutely loving it.

It is a relatively new foundation by Lancome, and was launched after 10 years of in-depth research. Lancome calls it a 'natural light creator - bare skin perfection', and I must say that they are not lying; this foundation is short of amazing! It contains 40% water, and particles not found in any other foundations on the market. Scientifically, it is pretty damn cool, but enough about that.

What I Love
- It is good for your skin: It is water based, oil free, non-comedogenic and dermatologically tested. It also has rose extract which soothes the skin!
- SPF 15
- It blends seamlessly into the skin.
- Medium-full coverage.
- Looks natural; it has a gorgeous finish - not too shiny, but not matte.
- Makes the skin look radiant. All I can say is that the patented ingredients Lancome is talking about really work!
- A little also goes a long way, which means it will last longer than some other foundations as well.
- It has a subtle floral fragrance and smells absolutely divine.
- The packaging is elegant and classy, and looks wonderful sitting on top of the dresser.

I'm leaving out the cons section, as there is honestly nothing I do not love about this foundation!

Prices
Australia: $68 from Myer or David Jones
US: $37

This is definitely my new HG foundation, and I adore it to say the least. I am certain I will repurchase it for years to come!

For reference: I am a NC40/42 and my Teint Miracle shade is 04.

Hope you all have a great day! xx

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation Review

Hey all,

I decided I would give the Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation a try as it is a favourite of one of my all time favourite beauty bloggers/youTubers emilynoel83 from Beauty Broadcast. I couldn't find my shade (400 - Natural Beige) in any of the Priceline stores near me, so I bought it off eBay and much to my excitement - it arrived this morning!

It only took me about 5 mins after I opened it to try it out, and I must say that so far I am loving it. It goes on smoothly (with a primer), is thankfully a great match for my NC40/42 skin tone, and sufficiently covered all blemishes and imperfections. It is not greasy or oily, and with a little bit of setting powder on the top there is no shine to be seen. It is also enriched with skin loving minerals, yippie!

Rimmel claims that it is transfer resistant, and from what I can tell, it is! I can't say much for the staying power yet as I only put it on about 30 mins ago, but I will put an edit in this post about that later.

What I Love
- Goes on smoothly
- Covers imperfections and blemishes
- Matches my skin tone
- Not oily or greasy
- Didn't oxidise
- Transfer resistant
- Mineral enriched
- Packaging - looks great, and is easy to store and transport
- EDIT - It does last absolutely all day!

What I Am Not So Crazy About
- Shade range, or lack of.
- Hard to find the darker shades (Had to buy mine overseas on eBay)

Price: $7.89 (off eBay)
