Gorgeous Cosmetics Lipstick in Eternal Bronze

Hey all,

I walked past the opening of a Gorgeous Cosmetics store in Brisbane city a while back and as they were promising amazing deals, I just had to go inside. Before this point, I did not even know that Gorgeous Cosmetics existed!

Well, I am glad that I do now! They have some snazzy looking products, and what seems to be an amazing and unique range of shades - just like this Eternal Bronze lipstick.

The Shade
A gorgeous red bronze, with slight shimmer.

What I Love
- I usually can't stand lipstick's with shimmer in them, but they seem to have got the balance just right. It isn't too overpowering at all.
- Gorgeous shade that compliments almost any look.
- Smooth and creamy - applies like a dream.
- Long lasting, even through eating and drinking.

What I Don't
- Harder to locate, but products can be bought online.
- Shimmer is left over after colour fades.

Where to Buy: Instore at Gorgeous Cosmetics, or online  http://www.gorgeouscosmetics.com.au/

Price: $35.00

On My Lips

Excuse my blemish!
I usually don't appreciate shimmer in lip products at all, but somehow it seems to work in this this shade. This shade would especially work wonderfully on darker skin tones, but I am sure that the fairer ladies out there can pull it off too!

Hope you all have a great night! xx

On My Lips: FOA Sheer Gloss Lip Crayons

Hey all,

Almost everyone in the Australian beauty blogging world would have heard about these by now; but I love them so much that I couldn't help but write my own post! I've been trying a lot of jumbo lip pencils lately and had to grab the FOA Lip Crayons the second they were available. They have had a lot of love since then!

The Shades
Macaron - A deep pink.
Cupcake - A light and bright pink.
Sundae - A brown-nude.

What I Love
- Most of all, I love how they look like actual crayons - I am a sucker for anything adorable
- Great colours, reasonably pigmented for a tinted balm.
- Highly moisturising.
- Goes on smoothly and is easy to apply.

What I Don't
- Can't buy them individually.
- Wish they had more shades!

Where to Buy: Big W

Price: $14.95 for 3.

Sundae

I think that these are wonderful! Sundae is my personal favourite, as it's a great 'my lips, but better' shade for me.

If you do decided to give these a try, remember that they are a 'sheer' lip product - so you won't get packed on colour. They are perfect for a more natural, muted look though.

Have you tried these? Which one is your favourite?

Hope you all have a great night! xx

I will leave you with this.

My soul! It aches!

On My Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet

Hey all,

I have already posted about my favourite lip butter, Berry Smoothie, and that post has more of a review.  You can read it here if you want more information, as this post will just be brief. I just had to share another lip butter love with you though - I can't help myself. Although it hasn't quite knocked Berry Smoothie off its pedestal, it is close. And of course, it's red!

You all know that I am determined to own as many red lipsticks as possible!

Shade
A gorgeous, deeper red. Blue-based, but very flattering.

Finish
Typical Lip Butter standard. Creamy and moisturising, as well as being highly pigmented.

Where to Buy: Priceline, and wherever Revlon is stocked.

Price: $21.95

It is such a gorgeous, deeper red and is definitely very wearable. Not as scary as some lipstick's, as it isn't overly bright. It is also a lot easier to apply evenly! If you want a toned down red lipstick, this one is definitely for you!

Hope you all have a great night! xx

On My Lips: YSL Rouge Volupte in #17 Red Muse

Hey all,

Sorry for the lower frequency of blog posts over the last week or so, I have been busy with university assignments, work changes and just caught up in general life! That being said, I should be back to posting every day (except weekends) again!

You all know just how much I adore red lipstick, and this is yet another one that I think is absolutely divine! I picked this one up a couple of months ago and have used it SO much since. Perfect formula and perfect colour, it is definitely a new favourite.

Formula
YSL Rouge Volupte's have such a gorgeous formula, and are therefore one of my favourite lipsticks out there. They are creamy, moisturising and definitely pack a punch when it comes to pigment!

Shade
Bright medium orange red. If that makes any sense at all! I believe that it is definitely universally flattering.

What I Love
- Glides on like pure silk and is velvety and moisturising.
- Highly pigmented.
- Doesn't smudge - even though it is creamy.
- Gorgeous, gorgeous packaging.

What I Don't
- Not very long lasting; but for such a velvety lipstick, you can let it slide.

Where to Buy: Myer & David Jones

Price: $55.00

Yet another new favourite lippie of mine! I have been discovering so many gorgeous new shades lately, that I am going to have to try my hardest not the overload you all! If I start rambling on about lip colour too much, feel free to tell me to shut the hell up be quiet.

- I know I just mentioned pigment, but it most definitely has one swipe colour!
- Relatively long lasting - around 4 hours without eating or drinking.

On My Lips: MAC Reel Sexy - Heroine and Watch Me Simmer

Hey all,

As I'm sure a lot of you were, I was super excited for the MAC Reel Sexy collection to hit Australia shores. Since we get everything a little bit later than the US, it always gives me time to look at swatches and reviews...and fall in love with everything!

All of the lipsticks in the Reel Sexy collection looked divine, so the day that they were released here I ran out and picked up the two I thought would work best with my skin tone - Heroine and Watch Me Simmer.

Heroine & Watch Me Simmer
The Shades
- Heroine - a gorgeous magenta purple that is almost completely matte, it just has a hint of shine to it.
- Watch Me Simmer - a bright coral with a hint of pink.

What I Love
- Highly pigmented and creamy, like most MAC shades.
- Such gorgeous shades.
- Wear around 4-5 hours on me.
- Fade evenly.

On My Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie

Hey all,

Yes, I have jumped on the bandwagon and purchased some of the well acclaimed Revlon Lip Butters. But before I start with the review, I have a bit of ranting to do.

The prices us Australian girls get charged for products is insane and personally I think it is completely unjustifiable. The lip butters are a perfect example; how we can get charged $21.95 for something that is $8 in the U.S is completely beyond me. Because of price gaps exactly like this, products that are affordable (and quite often loved for that reason) for our fellow beauty lovers overseas are not as easily accessible for Australian ladies.

What are your thoughts? Does anyone know the 'reason' behind the price gap?

Okay, rant done - on to the review.

Revlon Lip Butters are a famous new-ish product that are a wonderful combination of a lip balm/gloss and a lipstick; they provide moisture as well as colour. I have picked up four lip butters so far, but Berry Smoothie is definitely my favourite shade. For me, it's a perfect 'my lips, but better' shade.

What I Love
- Gorgeous colour- natural and universally flattering.
- Great pigmentation for the product type.
- Very moisturising and feels great on the lips.
- Relatively long lasting.
- Gorgeous packaging.

What I Don't
- The ridiculous price difference between the US and Australia.

Where to Buy: Priceline, Selected Pharmacies and wherever Revlon is sold.

Price: $21.95

On My Lips

They are lovely lip products and they do exactly what everyone and his dog/cat/bird/ant? (who hasn't been talking about them?!) claim. I am just not convinced they are worth the larger Australian price-tag.

What do you think?

If  I purchase more, I think I will grab them off eBay from the US - at a much lower price.

Hope you all have a great night! xx

I love that you can see the colour from the top of the packaging.

On My Lips: MAC Hang Up

Hey all,

Another one of my lipstick great loves! I loved this lipstick as soon as I put it on for the first time.

Hang Up has been a constant favourite in my collection for a long while now, and it is definitely one of my go-to shades. This darker purple red compliments my deeper skin tone perfectly and it definitely adds a little bit of glamour to any look.

Shade: Deep purple-red with brownish tones.

Formula: Cremesheen

What I Love
- Gorgeous colour.
- Moisturising.
- Smooth and easy application.
- Relatively long-lasting, about 4 hours without eating or drinking.

Price: $36.00

Where to Buy: Myer and David Jones

Swatch

I wear this shade lightly applied with a gloss during the day, and heavily applied for a highly pigmented night time look. Although it may seem to dark for some skin tones, I definitely recommend that you try it out for yourself - it may surprise you!

Do you have Hang Up? Any other shades like it that you love?

Hope you all have a great night! xx
