June Empties and Project 50 Pan Update

Hey all,

I went through a lot of products this month, and I mean A LOT! Being on Project 50 Pan, I was very determined to get rid of all the products clogging up my shelves. I had a lot of products that were nearly  empty, but just didn't seem to make it over the line.

Well, they are gone now.

I used a total of 28 products this month, bringing my Project 50 Pan total so far to 48. 2 months later and 2 more products to go? Well, this went a lot quicker than expected! I have been surprised at my willpower over the past couple of months, and have not bought anything at all (except replacements). I do have a wish list from here to the moon though!

Shopping My Stash

Hey all,

This post is going to be short and sweet, as I have been feeling very under the weather for the last few days. I still wanted to share with all of you though!

I'm not going to lie, I have a very large make up collection. Friends and family are always harping at me to 'start some sort of business', or looking at me as though I am insane (probably just a little). Having a large number of products, I have found that many end up becoming lost and forgotten; and sometimes feel guilty that not all my products are getting the love that they deserve.

So I decided to do something about it, and participate in the 'Shop My Stash' theme that has been going around for a while.

What Is It?
It is pretty much just an opportunity to rediscover items from your stash, and to place them in your everyday routine.

My Rules
1. Every week, pick 5 items from my stash that I haven't been using.
2. Use all of these items at least twice in the week.

The Products
Anything, except nail polish and brushes.

Week One

1. Sleek Primer Palette
2. Illamasqua Cream Blush in Libido
3. Benefit Ooh La Lift
4. Physicians Formula Shimmer Strip in Sunset Strip
5. Sleek Eyeshadow Palette in Monaco

I am going to be doing this every week for the next three months. Feel free to join in, for as long as you like, and link me if you have already started!

Hope you all have a great night!

May Empties and the Beginning of Project 50 Pan

Hey all,

I know that this post is running a little late, so sorry! I have been swamped with university assignments, but thankfully they are all done now and I can finally breathe easy again.

I got through a total of 20 products last month, which is great for me as it is also the month that I have decided to start Project 50 Pan. For those of you who don't know, Project 50 Pan was created by Anissa of Beautifully Glossy and is a project where you halt purchasing until 50 products are used up.

Why am I doing this to myself again?

I am trying to cut down on purchasing to both save money and to give me a chance to explore my collection.

Here are my May empties and the beginning of 50 finished products!

Face Products

1. Simplicite Plant Gel Cleanser for Dry/Mature Skin
An absolute winter favourite for me! Cleanses without drying and keeps skin well moisturised. Smells divine as well. I use it every night, or every second night depending.

5. Face of Australia 3 in 1 Primer
My favourite drugstore primer, smoothes out skin and creates the perfect base. Doesn't cause me to break out either. Also has SPF15+, which is great!

This one, I love. The wand is amazing for getting great uplift to the lashes.

Phew! I always feel great after writing an empties post. It is good to see that I actually get through a few products each month, it definitely feels very rewarding.

It's favourites time again! Has everyone had a good month?

Honestly, I have been in love with so many products this month; it was super dooper hard for me to restrict my list! What can I say, I have a lot of love to go around!

What I Have Been In Love With

Avon Super Shock Mascara
This is such an amazing find! The wand is brilliant, it separates and extends lashes like nothing else!

Eco Tools Retractable Kabuki
Great for on the go touch ups! Fits in your bag perfectly!

A cheapie, but isn't it the most splendid summer colour!?

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Hairspray
I have been in love with this for a while! Great for creating the perfect 'I don't care' look.

Purr by Katy Perry
I am cat crazy! As hard as it is to admit, I did buy this fragrance for the adorable cat packaging...but it turns out that I adore the smell!

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 14
Absolutely stunning nude lipstick that doesn't wash me out, or make my lips look dead! Perfect for everyday, or matched with a smokey eye.

I highly recommend trying out all the products that made it onto my faves list this month. Christmas is coming up, some of these would make great stocking stuffers!

Talking about Christmas, I have some exciting festive posts coming up - so keep your eyes open!

What is everyone loving this month?

Hope you all have a great day! xx

In my life - The cat had a bit of a health scare today & now has to be kept inside for 2 weeks; she's already torturing me on day one! The man is also in Melbourne - he went down to see Eminem, so I have a few days to myself. It's funny how easy they are to miss!

Lust Have It - October Box

Hey all,

I have most definitely been going on a bit of a beauty box subscription spree in the last couple of months, and so far am absolutely loving the concept! I subscribed to Lust Have It after a fellow blogger commented on my beauty box post. I was pretty excited about it after checking out their website! But now, I am not so certain how I feel.

We all know how important first impressions are, don't we? Well firstly, my October beauty box didn't arrive in October at all , but on November 1! Now I am sure lust have it! didn't intend for that to happen, and it was probably of Australia Post's doing...but nonetheless, it did irk me.

How about the products? Well, they are nice products. I just feel that they aren't tailored to me in the slightest, and they weren't really what I was looking for. There were quite a few anti-ageing samples, and at under 25 they just don't excite me as much. I was really hoping for more make up related products, and less general skin care.

Enough rambling!

What Was in the Box?
- Lancome Genifique Youth Activator
- LimeLily Cosmetics Cream Blush in
- Lush Soap - Honey I Washed the Kids
- Taut Collagen Orange Drink
Kerastase Resistance Range
- Bain De Force Shampoo
- Ciment Anti-Usure Treatment
- Ciment Thermique - Reconstructor Milk

All in all, my socks weren't knocked off. Although the Lush soap smells divine, and my hair is going to thoroughly enjoy the treatments - I was just expecting more! I shall leave my subscription open for the next couple of months, and see what the future boxes are like.

Maybe I am just too fussy? Either way, I still have hope!

Hope you all have a great day! xx

Wishing Upon a Star: November

Hey all,

Mmm...make up!

I have had massive beauty related cravings this month, so it was really hard for me to cut my wish list down into an 'appropriate' size. Thankfully it's coming up to Christmas soon! Definitely time for me to start placing wish lists strategically around the house...you know, light reading material and everything!

Here's a portion of what I'm lusting after this month!

The Goodies

Illamasqua Blush in Hussy - $42
Love! That is the emotion I have for my Illamasqua blushes! I'm always looking to add to my collection & have been lusting after Hussy for a while!

Revlon Lip Butters
I have no idea if we are even getting these in Australia, but I saw one of my favourite beauty gurus Emily Noel from emilynoel83 (youtube) talking about them and I think they are to die for! I really hope we get them soon, if not, I may just have to buy some off eBay!

Illamasqua Skin Base in 10 & 12 (my perfect shade!) - $65
I have spent so much money on foundation etc recently, that I haven't really been able to justify buying more. But I have gone 2 whole weeks without forking out (amazinnng :P), and this just looks so amazing!

Wittner Wedges - $149.95
Shoes, shoes, and more shoes! I absolutely adore the colour of these wedges. No, I don't really need them. But they are pretty! And they will look amazing keeping all my other wedges company.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Amused & Blissful - $25
I haven't bought any of these beauties yet and am not entirely sure why! I should get onto it, stat!

Inglot Freedom System 5 Eyeshadow Palette, full of shadow's of course!
I have no idea exactly what shadows I want, there are so many to choose from! But, I have definitely been wanting to purchase a freedom system palette for a while now, and I think this may just be the month to do it! I do love Inglot products after all...

Is anyone else finding it extremely hard to believe that it's November already?! Where-o-where has this year gone? Now I am starting to feel as though I am behind on Holiday plans!

Hope you all have a great day! xx

My Two Cents On The Importance of Sun Protection This Summer!

Hey all,

I'm usually not one to nag, but I don't see this as nagging! I see it more as...enforcing education upon ;)

As most of you who live in Australia (and those of you who don't) would know, the sun is a damn dangerous thing. In a nutshell, it burns up your skin, and turns what was once a bunch of happy little skin cells into cancerous lil monsters. Sun protection is absolutely vital in Australia and around the world! It doesn't only help prevent skin cancer, but also prevents: premature ageing, sun spots (brown spots) and other general sun damage.

Despite common beliefs, no one is immune to the damage caused by the sun - even if you have dark skin to begin with! I have a med-dark (NC40/42) complexion, and I am young - but guess what? In the last year I have had 2 cancerous spots removed from my right leg. My oh my!

Approx 2 in 3 Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer before age 70 & till this day, prevention remains the best way to save lives!

The Lowdown
- If you think 'it won't happen to you', it quite possibly could.
- Over-exposure to the sun can cause a variety of skin cancers, premature ageing & brown spots
- Try using products with a minimum SPF 30+ UVB & UVA broad spectrum protection on both your body and your face.
- Always reapply sunscreen!
- Avoid excessive sun exposure
- DO NOT use tanning beds/solariums

Okay, now for the fun stuff!

The First Ever BellaBox! October 2011

Hey all,

After receiving my Beauty Box Australia a couple of weeks ago and being somewhat disappointed, I have been eagerly awaiting my first (and the first!) BellaBox. I'd heard a lot of good things about them, and subscribed immediately! But of course, because I was so excited, Australia Post had to delay my delivery for no apparent reason!

But finally, it is here! It was waiting for me at home today, and I nearly jumped through the roof!

We all know that first impressions are important, and I must say that as soon as I opened my box I was impressed! I was slightly worried because I'd set my expectations of BellaBox quite high, but they met my expectations and more! The packaging is adorable and stylish, the products are amazing and varied, and the little touches (like tying together two loose sachets with ribbon) let you know that they really care about their customers.

Enough of my rambling, you all want to know what was in the box!

What Did I Get
- Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer
- A'KIN Lavender, Geranium & Jojoba Hand and Nail Creme
- Alpha-H Gentle Daily Exfoliant
- Savoir Faire Lipstick in Miss You
- One Skin System Daily Hydrate
- Wines Wipes

I was ecstatic when I saw what my box contained. It was full of beauty goodies I have been wanting to try, or can't wait to try soon! I am happy with every single one of the six products in my box, and I will be using all of them!

I am especially happy with the Savoir Faire Lipstick! The packaging is absolutely divine, and the shade is to die for! I swatched it on my hand immediately and am so excited to try it out on my lips soon!

I am going to sum up how impressed I am with my BellaBox in one sentence, or I will be here all day. This is a subscription I am definitely going to keep!!

They have promised to continously deliver fun, innovative and exciting products - I believe their promise and am excited for many more BellaBoxes to come! You can check BellaBox out here.

Hope you all have a great day! xx
